Objectives
- To position Maharashtra as a leading, all-season tourism destination at national and international levels.
- To promote inclusive and sustainable tourism that contributes to economic growth, employment generation, and rural development.
- To attract public and private investments in the tourism sector through policy support, incentives, and ease of doing business.
- To identify and develop high-potential tourism circuits, including heritage, spiritual, coastal, adventure, wellness, eco, tribal, GI-tagged product-based, and agri-tourism destinations.
- To enhance the tourist experience by investing in infrastructure upgradation, digital tools, and last-mile connectivity.
- To strengthen destination branding and promotion through integrated marketing, digital campaigns, and participation in national and global tourism events.
- To promote community-based tourism models and empower local stakeholders, including tribal and rural communities, women, and youth.
- To conserve, preserve, and promote tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the state including traditional arts, crafts, cuisine, and performing arts.
- To encourage development and adoption of technology-driven tourism platforms such as online booking systems, digital maps, and AI-enabled itinerary planners.
- To provide support for skilling, training, and capacity building in tourism and hospitality to ensure availability of skilled workforce across the state.
- To ensure interdepartmental convergence and stakeholder coordination for seamless delivery of tourism services and infrastructure.
- To foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and research in the tourism ecosystem through partnerships with academic, civil society, and private sector organizations.
- To implement data-driven planning, monitoring, and impact evaluation mechanisms for all tourism-related projects and schemes.
