Just Let Yourself Go!

There is nothing to beat the adrenaline-pumping feeling of letting go to indulge in thrills that you will set your heart racing and blood curling. And what could be better than indulging in this ‘adventure-loaded’ fun with your family? It could take the form of experiencing a free fall drop loaded with bungy effects from a tall tower or knowing how it feels like to hop into a washing machine without being chopped up. Or then it could just mean splashing in a pool under the force of an artificially created waterfall. All this and much more can be a part of your pleasure trip at any of the amusement parks across Maharashtra.

At Gorai near Mumbai, Essel World is one of the pioneering such theme parks which offers exciting packages right from top-of-the-world rides that will have your stomach churning to a scary set-up which will get your goose pimples all worked up. Children too can have a great time here, from doing a bit of go-karting to trying out a ‘Kangaroo Hop’ that hops to a height of 20 feet.

Off the Pune-Mumbai highway is the newly built Adlabs Imagica which too offers a dazzling variety of thrill rides and water fun, including the likes of the Rajasaurus River Adventure in which you join a scientist obsessed with dinosaurs on an unnerving water boat adventure that is packed with sudden twists and ambush turns. And kids will especially love the water version of the bumping cars in which they can select motored rafts and race them towards a particular target and then bump, and bump.

Pune too now has several water parks while there is one at Kolhapur called Dreamworld Fun & Water Park which, like others, has several options to liven up your day. The best part about such amusement parks is that you can go in large groups of family or friends and spend an entire day trying out the many thematic offers which will have you screaming with delight as your body experiences motions it has never gone through. Some of these parks also have restaurants and sprawling gardens to provide you with a full-fledged ‘picnic’ experience. If ‘chilling out’ is what you seek, look no further!

  • Often termed an oasis of empowerment, Anandwan is an example of how a single family has created an island of hope for those in absolute despair, especially people afflicted by the dreaded disease of leprosy. Selfless service and unfailing commitment is what has made Anandwan a lighthouse for the marginalised. Moreover, it is also a place that attracts tourists for its beautiful landscape and surroundings.
